Monday April 14th (Stacey)

By garlan2

I talked to Lana this morning and she sounded really good.  I think she is going to get to come home tomorrow (Tuesday).  They stopeed the pain meds through IV and she was hoping they would take the IV out and the catheter was removed yesterday.  She hasn’t been running a temp.  yesterday afternoon or today so that is good.  She still has 3 of the drain tubes in, but they had talked like she would only have to go home with 2.  Lana is a very strong person and has a positive attitude with all of this and has since day 1, so that will only help during her recovery.  We have all pooled together in this situation and we are going to do whatever it takes to help Lana.  She isn’t really good at asking for help because she is usually the person who does the helping, but it is her turn to  be on the receiving end.  She is like a mom to me and I hate that she is having to go through this.  I love her and just want her to have a quick recovery as many of you do.  Thanks again for all of your support!!!

Stacey, thank you for the updates. I know Lana is very thankful to have such a loving family to help her. She’s had such a positive attitude through this and I know a big part of that comes from having the support of her family but also is a big part of her faith. Please give her our best. There have been a lot of inquiries at the office as to how she is doing. We are all thinking about her.

God bless and we’ll be praying for you all.

Lana is indeed one of the strongest people I know. Who else could take a stress test, wrap up a brand-new conference and then travel out of town for surgery the next day?

I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting Greg or Stacey, but I can sympathize with you. Lana is only a mentor to me, but it is frightening to imagine her suffering from such a cruel disease. Dealing with this situation must be especially difficult for you who are so close to her.

I’d like to help, but I’m not sure how. So, I’ll send a card and my warmest wishes for you all.

    Sincerely,
    Maribeth Ahne
